TRIAX Neighbourhood Management Team
An affiliate organisation with CNP – Triax is the Neighbourhood Partnership Board for the Bogside, Brandywell, Creggan, Fountain and Bishop St area recognised by the North West Development Office of the Department for Social Development. Based at Iona Business Park, Southway, the Neighbourhood Renewal area comprises a population of some 17,300 people.
Triax brings together representatives of public, private and community & voluntary sector interests with 4 local Councillors Peter Anderson SF, Jim Clifford SDLP, Joe Millar DUP and John Tierney SDLP. The remaining members comprise:
Gerry Quinn (Chairperson); Sean McMonagle (NMT Manager); Sam McPherson (NIHE); Conal McFeely (CNP); Colm Barton (BBI); Brian Dougherty (Secretary/Fountain); Jeanette Warke (Fountain); Colm Barton (BBI); Geraldine Hillick (FHSST); Tina Gillespie (LSP); Gerry Lynch (DCC); Gerry McGuckin (NWIFHE); Bridie Mullan (WELB); Tony Doherty (BBI)
By working in partnership in this way, we intend to build the widest possible consensus around the main problems facing our area, the priority issues to be addressed and how best to deal with them. We also intend that local residents should have a real stake in turning their own neighbourhoods around.
The TRIAX Neighbourhood Management Team is based at two locations within the TRIAX area. Colm Barton works out of the Gasyard Centre, Lecky Road while Sean McMonagle and Kevin Campbell operate from the Neighbourhood Centre in Central Drive. Other team members include Declan McLaughlin.
The NMT plays a central role in bringing together key stakeholders within the area such as Derry City Council, NIHE, DRD and DSD representatives. Together they are working to deliver on the TRIAX Action Plan particularly the ‘liveability agenda’ – graffiti removal, street cleanliness and safer communities.
